How does Photomath work?

To be able to solve any problem, Photomath first has to read it.

The app uses advanced OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology developed by Microblink in order to read and recognize both, handwritten and printed characters of a particular problem.

The recognized characters, such as numbers, letters and math symbols, are then run through Photomath’s own algorithm that examines every character in its relation to others and determines the formula for the scanned problem.

In the next step, a problem-solving algorithm is applied to the formula to provide the solution and solving steps.

This highly advanced expert system that emulates the problem-solving ability of a human math expert is built into the app, providing the user with a great math learning experience.
